Ivy h.

Raised in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, Ivy Higa took to her sewing machine at an early age, creating her first outfit by 13. She had always been ruled by a passion to create, whether making jewelry or sketching, but clothing captivated her. The young designer received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Hawaii, before crossing the continent to pursue her fashion career in New York in 2006.

A designer's playground, Manhattan would become the palette from which Ivy would experiment. She was soon accepted into the prestigious Parsons The New School for Design. While in school, Ivy worked in the fabric design department at Donna Karan International. The young designer was in her element sourcing and selecting the highest-quality materials for production.

After graduating from Parsons, Ivy joined the design team at Lafayette 148 New York, working closely under the hand of Edward Wilkerson. During this time she began dressing her friends in original designs. Ivy drew inspiration from her surroundings, as she worked each concept through to creation. Each piece was met with enthusiasm as orders mounted. Ivy knew she needed to create her own collection.

Ivy h. was formed in the Fall of 2008 in the designer's apartment in Manhattan's East Village. This sophisticated contemporary collection focuses on the details; where the designer tends to all areas of construction, from conception to completion.

Ivy endeavors to create wearable art with her collection Ivy h. Her line epitomizes exceptional style made from the finest fabrics. She designs for the Ivy h. woman, a fashion-leader much like herself, who is always on the go and requires an effortlessly chic wardrobe to match.
